Hi all
Could anyone give me a ballpark, very rough cost for upgrading of radiators in an office of about 5,000m2 to low temperature radiators ( running at about 40C ), assuming minor pipework modifications for each radiator - including supply of the radiators + time and materials?
Just looking for somethinbg very rough for now...
Thanks
Nick

Do you know if the radiators are sized or 40dc

And what's the pipework

Have a site visit shortly to survey the building. At the moment I am looking at approximate financial models to determine ballpark viability. Could you give me a typical range of costs?

10k-50k

It's a shot in the dark with no info get a few quotes from commercial heating engys as it needs to be designed right

Thanks... I know its a shot in the dark, but is that based on supply of the low temp radiators and installation or install only?

Don't know lol like I said it's a shot in the dark

Your guess is a good as mine get some contractors in and get them to quote it

Understood.. as a shot in the dark what would it cost to for installation and removal of 250 rads only ( assuming supply elsewhere and a moderate amount of pipework mods..?

You need a Commercial Heating Engineer to come and measure up to price that.

What's the reason?
If it is to prevent people touching them, why not price for purpose manufactured covers?
I do not mean the type of thing you see in domestic premises.
Some Radiator companies, will manufacture LST covers for rads. I think Stelrad do them! That will save major alterations.

Like I said at the start though, it's a specialist job and needs assessing by an experienced Commercial Engineer.

The reason..... existing radiators will be sized for higher water temperatures, the system will be using water temperatures of lets say 40C so will need to be bigger to cope with building heat losses. I know I need to get quotes in but this is an early stage project and I just need a ballpark figure for my financial model to take it to the next stage where I can firm up costs.

Ballpark figure.
ÂŁ180 per rad cost.
ÂŁ100 per rad to aalter. It will be more than minimal alteration, as the rad will be 30% larger.
So ÂŁ70,000.
