Evening all. When installing a kitchen sink, do you bed it down with the tape it comes with or do away with it and use silicone?

I've done both loads of times, if the tape is there to hand I use that though as it's less messy

I hate fitting sinks, that tape is next to useless! The fixing clamps that come with kitchen sinks is hopeless too, so fiddily!

years ago early inset sinks came with studs welded on the bottom and the were easy to fix but the studs were subsetable to damge in transit now we have to struggle with the god awful clips

Yep them clips are on a par with carpet grippers and WB prvs, theres usually going to be blood.

I have already been assaulted by them clips from just fitting it in the hole to see if it fits!!! Do you use the tape or silicone?

The clips always seem a bit short for a 40mm worktop. Apparently you're supposed to rebate the underneath with a router

Franke sinks don't use the stupid clips now there spring loaded on the side makes life so much easier , but I normally silicone with a few clips then wonder wipe the excess silicone off
