Hi,

I am looking to move my oil boiler into an enclosure outside and place a wood burning stove where my old boiler was situated.

Can the original stainless flue from the boiler be used for the stove?

Thanks for any advice

I'm still waiting on local people getting back to me and coming to view, I had planned to have the floors tracked new coper pipe in place for the boiler etc.. to make the install quicker and meaning we would have less downtime as regards heat goes.

I will definitey have a professional install the stove as my families safety comes first but I just looked at the pipes and it looks very similar to what I would be buying from a stove supplier.

I've attached a picture of the pipe that runs through the house IMG_3254.jpg

This is something for you to talk to your man about then if he agrees you can do the pipes in the time between the quote and the start date but surely the pipes would need to be left exposed until the final checks had been done.

As I said yeah I will be consulting a plumber infact I'm expecting a call back in the next hour. I will only be tracking the floors for new pipes but leaving them exposed for the time being. I was just curious if it was the same type flue used for both applications.

I only meant that if I had the floors tracked and pipes ran to new location then my family would have less downtime without heat which obviously has to be a priority

I think what the guys are alluding to is that you need an expert to confirm the flues suitability for reuse. It's not just a case of here's a flue let's use it

It's more the fact you want to track floors that worries me.

Talk to your guy. You're barking up the wrong tree at the moment.

Hi all, this is probably a daft question but I need to run my cold feed from one side of my wall mounted boiler to the other. Running it beneath the boiler is difficult with lots of obstacles, is it okay if I run soldered copper over / across the top of the boiler? It'll be about 4" off the top...
