Ideal imax w45 banging noise.

Hey. Got called to the above boiler with complaints of a knocking noise. When I arrived I found the pressure to be over 3 bar. The filling loop had failed. Took pressure down to 1.5bar. Fired up boiler again and the knocking noise still persists. Sounds like a rocks in a washing machine. Thought trapped air so replaced aav on top of heat ex but that hasn’t made a difference. Pump is working fine, auto bypass fine, rads and hot water getting up to temp. Partial blocked heat ex?

You commercial mate as I’m sure Ideal class this boiler as a commercial ?

No I haven’t got commercial ticket. Didn’t realise that. Just went by the fact it was under 70kw and under 35mm gas supply.

@ShaunCorbs you were right. Looking at the boiler manual online it’s says ideal commercial imax w45. But I didn’t see the commercial bit on the actual boiler. I will let the owners know on Monday. Thanks for the heads up.
