Help please! Any ideas how I open this mono block to get to body? I have removed the allen screw but the cap and spindle are still captive and engaged on the the body though they do move in and out about 1/4 inch. I don't want to force anything, have tried a gentle prising on the cap but no joy.

Try looking for another Allen grub screw underneath the square section. Then square section may pull off, or could unscrew and take round section next to spindle with it.

Good call but there are no other grub screws and I am told the square section is fixed which makes sense as the are both perfectly aligned and if they were removable they would be slightly adrift but thanks for your response.

What are you trying to do?
There are a pair of flats on the valve, use a spanner on these and it will unscrew from the body?
I have partial success in that I have managed to pull the spindle out and remove the outer chrome cover, everything just prises out though it takes some doing. However the tap body is sunk right inside the housing and I can't get a socket on the nut, tantalisingly close but no cigar! Will have to put it back together and get a box spanner tomorrow. Thanks for the help guys

Hi, Can anyone advise as to why the cold water to my bathroom keeps airlocking? This originally happened about 12 months ago and has happened 3-4 times since. It’s an upstairs bathroom, fed from a tank in the attic. The tank is about 8 Meters away and feeds a bath, sink and toilet. The tank...

Hi, basic question, any insight much appreciated. Looking to have an outdoor tap in my front porch fed from 15mm pex coming up from suspended floor. Pic 1 is inside porch, pex temporarily clipped to give an idea of pipe placement (ignore shoddy blockwork of booted cowboy builder!), Pic 2 is...
