Hi, I live in a really remote part of the Highlands, so paying for a plumber (or electrician?) to do this will be brutally expensive, so I need to do it myself.
I have a Grant Combi 26e boiler.
I'm replacing the old thermostat with a new one.
Although the boiler is a combi, I think the old thermostat was wired up as an on/off (it has a bridge wire)? The old system worked fine, so unless there's good reason not to, I'd like to just keep it as an on/off.
You guys probably don't need the thermostat's wiring instructions, but I've included them just in case.

In the 2nd pic I've number the new thermostat's connector things 1 to 7. Providing I don't need any more wires from the boiler, could you guys tells me which number the: "Plug Earth", "Plug Live", "Plug Neutral", "Boiler Live", and the bridge go to?

-I'm not rich at the moment, but I'll happily make a small donation to charity for the help (I see others have done this). It would be cool if the site owners had one in mind, and had a link we could use...?

Hello, I am seeking some advice, I have a POTTERTON PROMAX 28 COMBI Boiler and I noticed yesterday that the water around the house is no longer warming up. The heat exchanger has been changed 6 months ago, so I do not believe it is that. Does anyone have any ideas on what it could be? Thanks

Can anyone recommend a decent multi meter, preferably under a 100 pounds. It's for checking boiler components so I don't need a top spec one ....just easy to use and reliable. The fluke 115 looks good but its above my budget. My current socket and see one was great but it's developed a fault.

Hi all. Hope you have all been keeping well. A while back I decided I only wanted to fit one brand of boiler and decided on Viessmann due to space for servicing and changing parts if ever needing to. I am finding my decision rather hard due to the different clearances on flue runs and cupboards...
