Hot water coming out of overflow pipe. It's not dripping, it's pouring out. The tank hasn't been switched on for ages. It's an immersion heater. I'm thinking the water is boiling in it and overflowing but not sure.

Is the water hot coming out of the pipe be careful as it might be

You need to make sure the immersion heater is turned off and electrically isolated. What you have now is a recipe for disaster and needs to be stopped. Not long ago here in Taunton a toddler died because the immersion heater thermostat had failed, the immersion heater continued to supply energy to the water and after a while it began to boil and vent over. The plastic cold water storage tank became hot and failed, resulting in near boiling water pooring through the ceiling and on to a sleeping toddler below.

Hello, I am seeking some advice, I have a POTTERTON PROMAX 28 COMBI Boiler and I noticed yesterday that the water around the house is no longer warming up. The heat exchanger has been changed 6 months ago, so I do not believe it is that. Does anyone have any ideas on what it could be? Thanks

I was stupid enough not to check the position of the pipes under the tiles when installing a toilet and drilled right through the center of a 16 mm copper water pipe. I exposed the pipe by removing a ~30cm section of the plastic sleeve and a ~10 cm section of the pipe around the hole. Several...

Hi all, I'm installing a concrete patio out back. By the wall under the kitchen sink I have an existing P-Trap gully for the grey water from the sink, dishwasher, washing machine etc. When I pour the concrete there won't be any chance to dig it up anymore. From my own research I get the...
