Hi all,

I'm on a job where I am fitting my first ever grease catcher and I have a question that I can't seem to find the answer too.

I get that I have to run a high heat waste in to the catcher from the appliances but does it also have to be for the outlet to the drain after it has mixed with water from the sinks?

No, standard drainage would do, if you think about how they work i.e. for the grease to separate and float to the top (& stay there) the incoming water from the sinks needs to cool down. That is why they are sized to suit the volumes going in.

I don't understand the last bit Rybo_1 "after it has mixed with water from the sinks?"
Is your grease trap in ground or above ? Do you mean water from non wash-up sinks such as food pre discharge into the outlet pipe ? if so you will need to make sure that they can't wash back into the grease trap. Normally you would keep them separate to drain.
