Ok so we have a student halls style kitchen with two separate oven units. Oven 1 on the left cuts out apparently randomly, quite frequently. This oven was replaced but the problem continues. Gas comes in and goes past oven 2 first. Students have suggested that changes to oven 2 might be causing oven 1 to cut out (ie turning off oven 2).

Does this sound reasonable as our on site maintenance team so seem to think so - instead, accusing the students of lying...

Get a gas engineer to come and inspect the install it already sounds like you have diyed the new oven install
 
Hey thanks for replying Woody, the GS guy we have on site couldn't find any problems and thought it unlikely that oven 2 was having any effect. Safety check carried out etc and no problems - other than it cutting out randomly.
 
Get a competent gsr with a commercial catering ticket.
