[h=1]hi, can anyone tell me if I could run 8mm or 10 mm copper pipe from a 22mm pipe near the gas meter to the gas fire? which is going to be capped off. thanx[/h]

With out seeing it, it's hard to say.......run it in 15mm and then your certain there will be no future sizing issues

It really depends on the pipework installation as a whole and what Kw fire would be fitted, but in general as boblydon mentioned, run 15mm as far as is reasonably practical to fire and then step down to 10mm for as short a run as possible.
3 meter's of 10mm will discharge nearly 3 times the gas of 3 meter's of 8mm.
