Got a friend who runs a takeaway, he is doing it up and wants a new gas pipe, feeding 2 x grill and 1 x kebab machine. I would not be installing the machines as all on hoses. so just up to the bayonet. I am looking for excuses to not do it as believe he may change it and put it under my gas safe number. I have cookers, do these appliances have separate accreditations? If I install the pipe in a shop is this commercial even though it is not above 70kw or 0.035 or 75mb (may have got these numbers wrong, cant remember them, could look but hopefully everyone should get the idea) and just for future reference, can I just install gas pipe or does it have to be connected to every appliance before turning it back on?? if I can, does it need to be notified to gas safe?

you should be ok as not exceeding pipe volume. not sure about appliances itself.

that's what i'm stuck with?? do you need to notify a gas pipe? what stops anybody fitting a gas pipe and just saying an engineer done it?

you could probably just invoice for pipework so you would have proof or even better, call Gas safe to be sure

What size is meter? Igup/1b tells I what u can an cannot do. If there is a ISo and test point after meter in an can install upto 35mm . I have had this issue and called GS they said ok asking as not exceeding iv. But catering is a bit specialist..... Ventilation Interlock and solenoids, fire suppression .

That's what I was worried about the most as theoretically it is commercial premises, but it doesn't exceed 1B. But the extractors were covered in crap and no interlock and don't know anything about interlocks, solenoids or fire suppression!! definetly passing this one on.
