Hi all. First time i`ve posted on this site. Been looking at jobs advertised on the net of late as i`m thinking of moving away from my hometown. Long story short, i`ve come across jobs advertised for "gas meter classifiers" you must have an "emergency metering qualification" for this (which i don`t have) but i am interested to find out what the job is all about? And also how and where you can obtain this qualification. I`ve only ever worked on the domestic side of gas/plumbing and i only now of training centres that do the main domestic gas cores. Thanks in advance for any info!!!! Dom.....

i dont know anything of the job sorry, but most bpec centres ( and i assume many others) do the ESP qualification, phone around, what area are you in?

I live in West Yorkshire, but most of the jobs i`ve seen are down south.

think you have to have meters on your acs ie boilers, fires pipework etc and on gsr card cos we got the choice to drop water heaters and do meters

ESP can only be obtained through a national grid training centre, as I am a ESP egineer. U will need I+c gas card to complete this course.

And the bloke in west Yorkshire, they are screaming out for east engineers up that way, as we all have to do a month a year up there to help out
