Hi Guys just need some info, on a hob when you push the nob down to fire and press the ingnitor to light up stove, when you stop pressing the nob and it isnt lit it should then stop the gas should it not? Is the FSD Failing? Thanks guys

depends on the hob, some you just turn the control and gas is instantly there ,others have a thermocouple that will take a few seconds to hold the gas open.
is this a general question or specific to an appliance??
if there is an FSD that is not working correctly then that is ID

It is a Stoves Homeburn hob, it lights and stays on but it should only let the gas through when you push the nob down, turn and press the ignitor, the gas stays on once pushed down and turned, then let go without lighting it. Should the gas cut off when the nob has been let go?

Petefinny what happens on the other burners when you try to light them? If this one is different to the others then it has a fault. If its the same then it's okay IMO ... haven't got a clue what hob your talking about but they either have flame supervision or they don't. :D

Yes ! sounds like gas tap is sticking , give it a squirt with WD, proberly got some greese in it.
