Well, I bet you weren't expecting this on Easter Sunday afternoon!

If you are reading this after the afternoon of Sunday 20th April 2014, skip over it, because the freebies will be long since gone.

People who got the iT500 freebie, but have not yet reviewed it are NOT ELIGIBLE for this freebie, so don't bother trying! If you have done the review, then you are eligible again. You have to be registered with www.tradeonlyplumbing.co.uk to grab a freebie. If you haven't already registered, you will probably be too late for this freebie - but who knows what the next one might be! Get registered!

The freebie is the Jollytronic, hands free flushing valve from Wirquin. See this promotional video.

You can claim your freebie by visiting [DLMURL="http://www.tradeonlyplumbing.co.uk/wirquin-jollytronic-no-touch-flushing-valve.html"]this page [/DLMURL]and putting JUST ONE valve in your basket and checking out. At the check out enter the promotional code JOLLY690 in the box. This should reduce the price to zero and carriage will be free. If you attempt to buy more than one, your basket will be rejected.

Only the first 6 people to claim will be successful. As always, it is a condition of the freebie that you return to the site and write a product review. The review does not need to be positive, but please keep any criticisms constructive, which helps to encourage manufacturers to contribute products for review.

If you miss the freebie but would like one anyway, please place an order as normal, but there may be a slight delay in despatch, as we currently only have the sample valves - our main stock has not yet arrived.

This product has been around for a little while, but I believe it has been overpriced. I reckon that this is a natural up-sell to the eco-aware, hygeine-conscious customer, and at under £50 inc the VAT I think its finally at a realistic price. And the batteries will wear out, so in a couple of years time, you get a nice little earner changing them. :)

A big thanks to Alex Balfour - trade sales director of Wirquin - for putting up the freebies.

Woo and double hoo! Mine arrived this morning!

Along with a packet of out of date liquorice allsorts..... but that jokes backfired on ray cos i'm eating them anyway!

Has anyone fitted their Jollytronic yet?

I've got their sales director camped on the review section of the forum ... :)

Mine was going in yesterday. Fresh packet of batteries and all. Until I found my fresh packet of batteries was empty. Will be trying again tonight. Bought a fresh packet today.

Mine's going in this weekend. Didn't fit either of my loo's so Mrs C made me go get a new CC pan and cistern for it.

This freebie's cost me a fortune!

I'll gloss over that bit though if the next packet of sweeties are in date.........

Hi Ray, I fitted mine yesterday thanks to you and to Wirquin for the chance to get and review it.
For the install its a pretty standard easy flush valve to install, although in saying that the quality of the pictures is really bad. In my mind it would be better to give diagrams rather than poor resolution pictures. The valve itself seems decent quality.
Major plus for me was that it came with a new universal close coupled kit, was surprised to find that.
I like the fact it came with a new fov but I think maybe an option without one would be good too.
Bad points are n batteries!! come on we're plumbers and plumbers merchants don't stock batteries! someone else has mentioned this in a previous post and it's also the reason it took me so long to fit it.
The really bad feature for me is the actual push button mechanism itself, that silicone ring is going to get manky after awhile, it's quite a bad feature, it looks cheap and nasty to me! why not secure the mechanism like a standard push button ??? and the colour I would imagine this product would appeal to someone who's superclean and clinical so I'd imagine for them, this lid would be a huge no no.
conclusion for me is, that this is a good product in general but because of the push button mechanism aesthetics I wouldn't put another one in my house

waaooow!!! Even I would 'av sent Ray a PM about my concerns so he can forward to manufacturer. But I suppose the whole point of a review is to say it as you see it.

Thanks Clive.

I have created a new thread on the "product review" section and copied your review onto it (because in the Arms the manufacturer and public can't see it).

Its pre-moderated so may not appear for a while.

Thanks again for being constructive, even if critical. :)
