HSE guidelines state stored domestic hot water temp should be at a minimum of 60°C (typically 65°C) to prevent onslaught of Legionella. Thanks for the reply guys. Reason why I was asking is because my friend called me up saying that she has scalded her hands as the boiler British gas fitted was making the water too hot. 2 engineers came round but couldn't figure out what the problem was. I then asked her to check the temp which was set to 75c. I told her to turn it down to 55c. I'm just a bit puzzled as to why those engineers didn't just turn down the temp.....
