Hi , I need to quote on a replacement for an old glowworm xtrafast 96 which is a high delivery combi. I only have 470mm outside wall to mount the replacement on which rules out a vitodens 111w and a glowworm 35 which are both too wide. The vaillant 938 is only 440mm wide, can anyone recommend a similar product with a comparable h/w delivery of around 20 lit pm ?

vaillant is also 600mm deep but will only deliver 15 ltr/min, you may need to find an alternative position to facilitate the fitting of the 111 the glowworm is only 14.5 ltr/min. or a system/regular boiler with an unvented cylinder the xtrafast didnt give 20 lt./min max 16.5 lt./min

as above also whats the incoming pressure and flow rate ?

The mains pressure is over 4 bar, did not measure the flow. The depth is not a problem. Re-siting is, the house has been systematically upgraded, the old combi is in a cupboard which is long enough for a conventional boiler and unvented cylinder which the house cries out for. However I can only find super slimline cylinders t0 450mm. Basically I am stuck with a storage combi and re-running a larger gas main outside the house. I have looked up the ultrafast and the vaillant would outperform it and give more heating output. I just wondered if there were any alternatives, I fitted three of the 937s` when they first came out and had a few issues with there reliability. I am sure the 938 with store manufacturers info states it is capable of 200 lit in 10 mins then drops down to what the combi on its own can do.

Hi they used to say as a last resort you could discharge the D2 pipework at high level and turn it back to the wall. Similar to a combi boiler. I have just looked back through the regs this seems to have changed and it isn't mentioned now. It now mentions if at high level it should be discharged...

Hello, I am seeking some advice, I have a POTTERTON PROMAX 28 COMBI Boiler and I noticed yesterday that the water around the house is no longer warming up. The heat exchanger has been changed 6 months ago, so I do not believe it is that. Does anyone have any ideas on what it could be? Thanks

Hi all, this is probably a daft question but I need to run my cold feed from one side of my wall mounted boiler to the other. Running it beneath the boiler is difficult with lots of obstacles, is it okay if I run soldered copper over / across the top of the boiler? It'll be about 4" off the top...

Hi all. Hope you have all been keeping well. A while back I decided I only wanted to fit one brand of boiler and decided on Viessmann due to space for servicing and changing parts if ever needing to. I am finding my decision rather hard due to the different clearances on flue runs and cupboards...
