Hi has anyone got to the bottom of the cause of this very common fault yet? Gas analyser results spot on, (when it works), new style ignition electrode fitted. The boiler seems to run well for a while, then stops, attempts usual 5 times to re-start, you can see that ignition has started but stops after about a second or two. Eventually locks out on E5 sometimes E4.
Ionisation current between 3 and 9 though it does seem to jump around quite a bit depending on fan speed. Should it be stable.
Have been told that replacing the string gasket might solve the problem, has anyone found that to work.

Thanks for any suggestions.

Lots of the councils replacing systematically with silicone rubber isn't it a manufacture recall / recommended upgrade?

they have a graphite gasket to replace the string one around the burner, if you order up a service kit fo the boiler you'll get one along with electrodes and the other seals.

Almost right one. There is a similar red silicone rubber one. - obviously different appliance.... Is this the future of Baxi is
