british gas es1 thermostat

hi moved to new bungalow with british gas central heating system, the room stat is an es1 electronic one with normal rotary dial to adjust room temp but has a save button on it,what does this save button do ? has it got anything to do with the fact that only the kitchin and bathroom rads get hot while the others just get luke warm. have tried bleeding and balancing

my advice change the room stat, but if you want the instructions for the es1 have a look at the Drayton RTS 5
