I have a Valliant Thermocompact which is getting on a bit now and I'm looking at getting an ecoTec plus 624 as a replacement.

My current set up is a system boiler with unvented hot water and 'S' plan control via Hive and would like better control i.e independent temperture control of the CH & HW from the boiler with weather optimisation for the CH.

I read that there is an Valliant eBus system which can interface into the 'S' Plan, accepting that the Hive will be redundant, I have couple of questions:

1) My HW storage is a Santon Plus, for independant temperature control of the HW via eBus is their a tank mounted sensor?

2) In your experiance, does weather optimisation make a real differance for a 4 bed detached?

It works quite well with the ebus. You will need a degree in physics to understand the instructions though.
Don’t bother with hot water temperature control. For two reasons.
1. Disconnecting the manufacturers thermostat will invalidate their guarantee.
2. It does not need to control the temp, just the times.

Weather compensation is mostly to make the boiler run in condensing mode as much as possible, the type of house is not relevant.

We run a community village hall and have a large kitchen provided for the use of hirers. This includes a Lincat SLR9 gas cooker which I believe is a 23.8Kw appliance with all six burners and oven on max. This was installed some 10 years ago and has passed all subsequent Gas Safety inspections as...

Ideal Logic 24, Previous problem was that the hot water was only cold or barely warm if the heating was in use. If heating was off and boiler cold then would get hot water most of the time. Changing the flow cartridge about 2 years ago (when I moved in) solved this problem enough to suffer it as...

Hi, Can anyone advise as to why the cold water to my bathroom keeps airlocking? This originally happened about 12 months ago and has happened 3-4 times since. It’s an upstairs bathroom, fed from a tank in the attic. The tank is about 8 Meters away and feeds a bath, sink and toilet. The tank...
