Hi everyone.

Just looking at getting a new up to date gas hand book (my viper one is about 10 years old!)

The new viper is £90!!! But £50 if you subscribe with them. Has anyone subscribed to this? Do I need the book if I subscribe? Isn't all the same information available online to all subscribers? Is it any good? It seems the most up to date

A friend highly recommends the NINEIC book which is £45 although I can't find out when it was last updated. It seems that the latest edition is 2009 on amazon which seems like too long ago to me….?

Not sure about the Bpec one either? Has anyone got this? know hoe up to date it is?

Any other recommendations?

David

Bpec was updated last year, have you not done any gas for a while? Most decent places supply a new book when you do your ACS, although I know of one which "lends" you a book to do the exam then you are back home with just the dee out of date version which isn't great

the niceic books were updated recently i believe. check there website.

I recommend the NICEIC On Site Guide. It has stayed abreast with changes better than the Viper book, in my opinion.

Defo the niceic books I got given both books by my test centre when I did revision for cookers and fires xx

I don't mind them, I cant always fit a wireless stat so I have use for them now and then.

yep but they are sparkys LOL, and according to them their job is loads harder than ours (I wish copper pipe was as bendy as a bit of 2.5)

It is as bendy as 2.5 but if you do bend it like 2.5 the only thing that will go down it is electricity.

I've got the recent Viper and NICEIC books. I use both tbh when looking up stuff

I can get the NICEIC books for £30 the pair
