hi, looking for some help / info, i am a 100% drain man, i have high pressure jetting certificates, an HNC in civil engineering, various CITB training courses but no formal plumbing qualifications, i take apart bathrooms, kitchens etc most days and put the back very sucsessfully. would it be of any benifit to me to get some kind of formal plumbing qualification and if so what would you recommend, i have no intention of doing gas work etc.

should also add, i have been running a business for a number of years and well known localy as the guys to go to should there be a problem underground due to my civil engineering background.

You seem to be doing all right doing what you are doing. Stick to what you do best. There is no green grass left on this side. It has been trampled by people jumping the fence:rolleyes:

we are getting a bit of that too, some plumbers up here think they can just buy a jetter off evil bay and hey presto, they are drainage technicians, got to admit tho, its not been the first time we had one on the phone "yeh, ive lost my rods, could you pop a camera down and get them for me"

Hope you charged them accordingly;)

I think one of my first jobs when i started was a choked drain. Probably my initiation:)

diploma level 2
the new level 3 will be full of gas and electric, not needed for your type of work
