Hi,

Upstairs flat changed their boiler - some of their old fittings couldn't stand the pressure, big hole in our ceiling. Their plumber put in a temporary fix as they were unable to solder. Any thoughts on whether what they've done is suitable as a long term fix? The ceiling is not yet back up, so we've got a chance to get it right.

But the red tape around the joint on the electrical twin and earth is a definite no, get and electrician in to sort the wiring before the ceiling is replaced.
