hi i have 70 tubes in 3no. panel(1x30 tube and 2x20 tube) i will connect in series but should i use 15mm or 22mm pipe to connect to pumping station.

i am instaling a 1000ltr buffer tank with solar coil and i have 250ltr copper duel coil cylinder for dhw(buffer tank has no provision for dhw) i was going to fit a willis spyhon to the cylinder but if i use the water from the buffer tank through 1 of the coils will this be good enough for dhw or should i stick to the spyhon and just use the buffer tank as heat dump. if i stick with the spyhon would i put a 3 port motorized valve on the solar loop(to change from dhw to heat dump)

buffer tank will be heated by soild fuel range, oil burner(hopefully not to often) and 70 tube solar system.

thanks

I would ask the tube manufacturer, but I think I would use DN16 annular S/S pipe.

Hi I have on my house a 90 tube system that has been running great for two years now running radiators and a large water store. I have connected all the panels in series with 22mm ( they all had 22mm tails on so did not change the size). At both ends of the bank of panels I have reduced down to 15mm before going through the roof and this applies throughout the rest of the system. My Flowcon pumpstation, and another solar rated pump for the radiators again had 22mm connections but were reduced to 15mm.
I natuarally have a large heat dump radaitor on this oversized system but I have had no trouble with flow and heat disipation
