Customer wants to see fga values

So yeah I get a call that some homeowner wants to see the fga values on a boiler. Im like I can give it to you but what you gonna do with it? This and that. Wanted to tell her, chapelle I graduated on top of my class and if I put down a number somewhere, then thats the right number.
Am I legally obligated to give out my fga readings? That stuff is personal and to cover my bottom if anything. Something about the ratio wasnt to their liking. Its 0.0006 on highest rate and thats whats on the certificate, so more than ok and the boiler passed gsi without issues.
But they want the fga readings. Theyre in the logs and can print them but...whats next, filming the tightness test? My daily units of alcohol intake?
I'd like to tell her to take a hike, but whats the law on this anyone know?

I don't think you are legally obligated but if you don't have anything to hide and the figures are good give them a copy of it.

You have to put it on your homeowner and Landlords Certs now. There is a place for it on there. So if you serviced or safety checked it. Then yes they should have at least the ratio

As long as you have recorded everything needed on the CP12 or service cert that is all that is required. I must admit though, that I always staple a printout of the FGA readings to the cert to back up my findings. My local GSR inspector recommended me to do this so I always do. It covers your backside if nothing else, should a problem arise in the future.

Thanks. I thought they were indestructible after dropping it from boiler cases on numerous occasions, but apparently not.

Ha dropped mine a few times aswell. Once out of the window when starting it up in fresh air. The rubber boot did it's job thankfully and it was onto a lawn so no issues. You must have done a right number on it mate and not cheap to replace.

Nope. It might be cheaper to buy a new one and only just got this one. Smashed the screen and will not switch on.

I had one a couple of years ago where he went and checked the temperatures of the flow and return pipes on all rads ( 8 of ).
I knew when we did the job - and the quote - he was ( not being offensive ) different.

Anyway, I went back and gave him the time to explain and show him how to balance the system - over and above what we generally do.

He was rapt with the extra help and advice I gave him and he said he would do the final adjustments himself.

He rang me 2 days later to let me know the flow temperatures to each panel were withing 1.5 C of each other and the return temperatures were 'almost' the same.

Maybe I should employ the bloke for balancing heating systems.
As far as I could tell he loved the idea of getting things overly perfect.

Always staple a copy to the gas saftey cert bud and another to your copy you have nothing to hide its all recorded and above board. Cheers kop

How is your gas analyser BTW? ISTR it got filled with water and had stopped working properly.

You get all sorts of customers. This is London, so I fully expect perfectly normal looking and behaving people that once theyre in the privacy of their home, to put on their baking tray aluminium foil transmitter helmet and try to contact alien lifeforms. One wanting the readings means nothing special. If I have to give them out thats fine, and I did. They got quiet and went off the radar, I`m sure they thought I couldnt provide them and wanted to make some waves in case I really couldnt.

I'd Just give it to the customer. You'd write it on landlord cert Anyway, the ratio only shows the levels of POC are safe. The really useful figure is the CO2 which shows the boiler is burning the correct amount of gas and the CO that shows if it's being burned cleanly.

It's the customers boiler, they are entitled to know your test results.

Staple copy of fga to their copy and a copy to your copy...use more printer paper but covers you!
