Just a quick one as if never been asked to install such..

- installing new combi boiler in office
- customer wants to be able to control radiators in 3 different areas simply heating on / off 3 different switches for each room

What's most practical way

Should I kno this ? Lol

Zone valves, single channel programmers & r/stats or programmable stats.

or a 3 channel programmer with 3 r/stats in the seperate areas.

3 (4) channel programmer, 3x zone valves and and 3x room stats

Thanks lads,

Would it just be a case of installing a zone valve, to a switch that's labeled say room 2, on turning on switch it open zone valves? I've never done zone wiring, would a good spark be able to do this?

needs a plumber to intall the pipework and valves first before the sparks comes in, just valve the flow to each area and dont forget a auto bypass

Ok we'll I'm doing all the plumbing obv

What would be the easiest zoneys to use and what switch would be used to control zone valve???? Thanks lads

you need to have a room stat and timer control for each zone, either hard wire room stats to controls/clock or fit programable room stats. the clock will switch on, the stat will call, the zone valve will open and call the boiler on.

does the customer want the controls in one place or are they happy to have 3 programble stats?

Thanks for all input im just a wee bit confused re it

3 different rooms with rads customer wants to be able to control each room simply with a room thermostat

What would be most basic and easy way to install? Thanks lads

Any1? Trying not to be walked through here just never seen a diagram or wired this type

Do i need
3 two port valves?
3 stats?

Could i use 3 wireless stats? That would give me 3 receivers? What would open the valve then?

Tell them to stop being silly, fit 3 trvs and they can turn them up and down.

you can get programmable trvs, I've never fitted them myself.

if they wanted to control them via room stats it would cost a bit

Anyone even got like a quick example of how 3 or 2 stats are wired with a zoney?

as far as I was aware all houses must be slit zone heating even 2 up 2 down now - not that anyone does

Try this mate?

You need a live neutral and earth to the two port. Then when the programmable stat makes the switch, that wire then needs to power the brown wire on a Honeywell two port which will open the valve and liven up the orange wire which needs to be the switch to the boiler.

Hi all. Hope you have all been keeping well. A while back I decided I only wanted to fit one brand of boiler and decided on Viessmann due to space for servicing and changing parts if ever needing to. I am finding my decision rather hard due to the different clearances on flue runs and cupboards...

We are from Alberta, and I own an electrical company. I have been asked by a BC Mechanical P. Eng. to install an emergency STOP button at the man-door to the boiler room. It's intent is to 'halt' the operation of the boilers in the room should there be an emergency. He is demanding that I do...
