Hi - we want to replace the taos in our bathroom. - what do i need to measure to get a size of tap to buy??
do i measure the o utside thread of the old tap? - confused.com

You'll normally find basin taps are 1/2" and bath taps are 3/4"

bath taps are 3/4" thread
basin taps 1/2"
you don't need to measure anything, just buy bath taps for bath etc.
length of the thread will possibly vary??

i measured them, the outside thread on the bath tap came to 1 inch. ?? they are under 15 year old houses - so was just wandering if i was measuring the right thing!
