To get hot water I have to turn on the central heating as well. Once the central heating changed to position '0' the hot water will stop soon.
With central heating running in the mean time the hot water become very hot. However if I get cold water running in the kitchen mix tap to drop the water temperature, there is no hot water again.
can anyone give me some clue? The boiler is an old worcester 24cdi RSF.

Unfortunately Ollieg is right. In the interest of gas safety nobody will advise you to open up your boiler yourself. Should you be a gas safe registered installer I am sure Croppie will guide you the right way.

Thanks lads.

You need a gsr in to look at your boiler. We cannot and will not give advice on the installation or repair of boilers for your own safety.

Please go to Gas Safe Register | Ensure your gas engineer is registered. or post a thread in the 'I'm looking for a plumber / gas engineer' section of these forums remembering to include your location. [DLMURL="http://www.ukplumbersforums.co.uk/im-looking-plumber-gas-engineer/"]I'm looking for a Plumber or Gas Engineer[/DLMURL]

If you are gsr please increase your post count to 10+ then send a private message to either Gas man or Redsaw who will then check you and then give you access to the gsr private forum.

Thank you.

My first thought when I heard this fault a combi boiler with hot water but no heating. Was a problem with the stat, controls not making the call for heat. If this is not the case. Can the divertor valve be the cause of the issue?

When I put the central heating on the hot water gets drawn through the pump but is then being diverted straight back to the boiler instead of the rads What is this, and how likely is it that it is faulty? That sits in between the hot water to the rads and hot water to the hot water tank...
