The handle on my hot tap has been eaten away. The same thing happened 2 years ago to the same tap. It looks like galvanic corrosion has anyone seen this before. The tap is definitely brass. The top is chrome plated.

Eaten away? Sounds like the chrome plating is being affected. Are you using any harsh cleaner(s) on them? I don’t think it’ll be galvanic corrosion, more like oxidisation or a reaction with the tap handle and chemicals.
