Which TRV's reccomended

Hi,

Looking to upgrade a customers old y plan system, currently no rad valves fitted only lock shield and wheel heads on rads.

I have used EPH branded TRV's in the past, looking to try something else with recommendation, all comes down to pricing a decent job though.

Consider that the Danfoss TRVs, while being good quality, have oddball bodies and also the pipe and tail do not go far into the body as it is short depth. This will mean less ability of adjustment to tail to suit your pipes. Also in the future it won't be a standard swap to a different valve.
I worry about noise from TRVs as they start to nearly shut off.
Personally I like the Danfoss quality, but I never liked the Drayton from experience, as I found many giving trouble and overpriced and their bodies were also a silly short depth.
If you want inexpensive TRV packs, there are many standard body types out there, such as Mistral and some look decent. I think of TRVs as something that will need to be replaced in less than 10 - 15 years often and am happy with standard bodies that can be swapped easy using the original tail, nuts and olives if not damaged.
Am sure the Danfoss quality and performance surpasses most others but you have short depth and strangely heavy strong olives that need a lot of muscle to compress.

honeywell VTL120 - 15 is what I use twin pack with locksheld valve aswell , if you must go cheaper plumbcity do their instinct trv twin pack pack which works well .
