Is there something wrong with this underfloor heating setup?

underfloor heating.jpg
I could not get it to flow through the system, there was water in the system but the gauge did not show any pressure (0 litre/min)
the thermostat, programer, i.e. was all on, the pump is running

blimey, that bad, it is in a house i did some work for, he says it was a plumber, but i suspect that he did it himself.

apart from the looks, what else is wrong with it? he says it was installed last year but i can not find any information regarding the valves, any body have any idea on the system?
what is the valve on the right of the pump?

That's the mixing valve takes flow and return to regulate the temp
