May I introduce my girlfriend...

No but seriously...

Bath leg brakcets being shown being tightened into place by fixing screw.

Holes visible just above on all legs...for what purpose?

In diagram it looked like those holes were where the screws should pass through for fixing ...but then the legs would be too short.

Those holes are for securing the legs to the bath when transporting it. to keep them tidy, secure and out of the way.

They secure the legs to bath whilst in transport. I utilize them for holding upright 2"x1"s or 2"x2"s if needing to frame up bath to fit bath panel
 
I thought they were for a washing line to be threaded through ,once bath assembled,so you could dry you socks and undies on it, once you have washed them in the dirty left over bath water

I know a bloke who on a weekly basis weighs his socks. When the weight gets down to a certain amount he will buy new socks.
Honestly thats true.
