Neve seen it before but this happened to mine over Xmas, a 6 year old £1000 Siemens front loading washing machine that disintegrated and I couldn't get parts for. Before that my old Hotpoint lasted 17years. Tell the old lady to stop doing the washing at 30 degrees and give it an empty hot water wash every now and then.
