Discuss Tub/Shower Valve Won't Turn Water Off When In 'Off' Position in the Bathrooms, Showers and Wetrooms area at PlumbersForums.net

The tub/shower valve was so tight and hard to turn that I could almost not turn it, so I just replaced the Moen cartridge with an OEM Moen cartridge, and it now works smoothly & easily, with the water going from hot to cold, as it should while being rotated clockwise, but as it approaches the 'Off' position (180 degrees, down) it shuts off (the water stops running), like it should, but then begins to turn back on again, before coming to a stop. In other words, just before the knob comes to a full stop (fully clockwise) the water will stop running, but then the water begins to run again right before reaching the knob's 'full stop' position. So, with the knob at full-stop the water is running again. Any ideas?
