Ermm I'm a TADO virgin so be gentle with me. What black magic is this, how tf does the wireless stat talk to the boiler when there's no receiver in the starter kit?

Don't have it, client showed me a TADO "wireless kit" they wanted installed. It had the room stat, internet bridge and two TRV's only.

Ah I see. The wireless kit has a wired stat.

Just thinking ahead...if you use a TADO wireless room stat with their wireless TRV in the same room which has priority or are you not supposed to use them together?

With Tado you can have multiple devices in the same room/group, but you have to nominate one, and only one, device to be the temperature sensor for the room. When fitted this will be the wall thermostat as it will be the best measure of room temperature.

Be aware that Tado has two modes of operation. 1) All devices are equal and can independently call for heat. 2) The wall stats have priority. When the wall stat is satisfied, the TRVs cannot call for heat.

When only some of the radiators have smart TRVs it may be better to go for mode 2, otherwise the TRVs take control and overheat the other rooms.
