Just moved a Solo regular boiler, and the instruction manual states the flow and return tails to the boiler must be SOLDERED, and compression fittings must not be used. Not a problem, but seems odd!
Can anyone explain if there's any technical reason why?

Because the compression couplings make the casing a nightmare to get back on. Cack boilers. Hope you didn't have a vertical flue to fit on it, big pain in the rear!

Thanks AP - That makes sense.

This has a horizontal flue out the back, but now needs the plume kit. Not cheap, as it has a replacement horizontal flue as well.

The flow and returns will now come from below, which is a little more hassle as the fitings assumed they're coming from above!

Hi all. Hope you have all been keeping well. A while back I decided I only wanted to fit one brand of boiler and decided on Viessmann due to space for servicing and changing parts if ever needing to. I am finding my decision rather hard due to the different clearances on flue runs and cupboards...

I want to reconnect some outbuildings to an existing water supply. The supply pipe is old 22mm MDPE and buried for a fair distance so not going to dig it up and replace it 😬. Question is can I use normal 22mm plumbing push-fit connectors to make the connection as finding 22mm MDPE fittings...
