I have to connect the UPVC pipe to the ground. There's a connection of sorts there already. The rubber gasket there has perished but I don't seem to easily find a replacement.

Even if I did, the old UPVC pipe I have doesn't fit tightly in there and presumably never did.

My question is, does it really have to, if it's securely attached to the wall?
Also, could I get some sort of rubber gasket to make a more snug fit?

The connection in the ground looks like this. I think it's secured on pretty solidly. The pipe inside is clay.

Any idea how to proceed with this?

Thanks!

That's either Hepsleeve or Supersleeve pipe in the ground and coupler, but you'd need Hepsleeve or Supersleeve to soil pipe coupler.

Simpler and watertight way, as it must be, is to pull the plastic connector off and use the below;

Probably AC 4000 but you'd need to check the exact size of both pipes, you may get away with a far cheaper equal size coupler as second link,

Available at various suppliers, may be cheaper elswhere.

Cut the plastic adapter close to the ground as possible and then use this

We run a community village hall and have a large kitchen provided for the use of hirers. This includes a Lincat SLR9 gas cooker which I believe is a 23.8Kw appliance with all six burners and oven on max. This was installed some 10 years ago and has passed all subsequent Gas Safety inspections as...
