Hello
I live in Spain, on the 4rth Floor (last floor) of an older building. I was so happy to get an upper floor, cause I know the low floors often suffer from smelly problems here
However I sometimes have a horrible smell in my kitchen...a smell that suddenly comes up...AND on top it always smells horrible under my sink, when I open the cabinet.
Ok so there is still one connection where the washer will go,it is placed right above the sink trap..so that one could release smells. I tried to block it but the smell got worse.
I was wondering if I should install a proper vent but one plumber said there is no need cause I have the sink trap.can you see anything ODD from the picture I post?
WHAT WOULD BE WORST CASE SCENARIO? and would it get better if I install the washer? (It will be connected to kitchen sink and that is normal in spain)

Only thing I see as odd, is the 4 way tee and the trap after it, it could be something the other side of the tee that the smells appear from. How long before you get your washer? As you say, th smells will emanate from the open bit.

Thanks,I hope to get a washer soon...lets see..however when i try to block the open bit, orconnect a washer, then ,if there is asmell or gas,it would just come out from the sink...
Lets see...so far nothing helped.I put warm water and bleach, in case there is something rotting in there..then the smell was MIX of bleach and rotting stuff.lol.i am concerned it is something serious.grrr

Yes, sorry just looked again, the smells would appear at the sink yes. You shouldn’t be smelling (natural) gas. The trap would be better suited directly off the sink waste.

Ah yes, the trap should be right below the long tube, coming from the sink and the connection for the washer after that....would I need to install a Vent?
I will see how it goes and try to find out where exactly it is coming from.
If I take the whole tube things Off and go to a decent Home Supply store, you think they could help me to Buy new tubes and "rearrange them" a bit?

This connection needs sealing off whats the other side of the wall ? Check for blockages downstream . Kop

On the other side of the wall is basically the outside of the building, or an inner shaft. In spain there is ofyen an inner shaft in a building.but anyhow itbis not another room behind the wall
