It looks like I can't get the lovely soudal silirub+ I've used for 10 years without 1 callback on failing or mouldy seals.

What do you all use as a great all round silicone?

Am looking at Dow 785

I really like it's adhesive qualities (though my tiler hates it when trying to get the stuff off) and it sticks basins down with confidence. Only downside was its heavy texture made it break a number of guns.

I've used Everbuild 500 for a while now available in white clear and cream and an Everbuild Power Pro gun which I recently discovered because a joiner mate was using one. Well impressed with the gun.

785 but does tend to go mouldy/ show signs of age after 3 years depending on use

Mould is caused 100% by bad ventilation and lack of drying/ cleaning. Given the right circumstances, it will grow on glass. So it’s not the fault of silicone.
Personally I like the adhesive properties of Dow 785, mappai, and everbuild forever whit/ clear.

Another common cause of mould on silicone is smoothing it with a licked finger! All that bacteria before the skin has formed is not good.
Use a fugi-type tool and it will last longer before going mouldy.
