Evening all, the Scottish boiler scrappage scheme starts on 24th May but word is that you have to be Gas Safe Registered AND Snipef registered (or similar). Does anyone know if this is true? Seems a bit arbitrary if so...

Just to help anyone else wondering, I rang Energy Saving Trust and they said just Gas Safe registered. But just to double check I rang SNIPEF and they said no that they are wrong and you have to be Gas Safe AND Snipef registered.

I also had a similar problem, was informed that being Gas Safe only from energy savings trust was not enough and would have to be a member of a recognised governing body like SNIPEF or CIPHE.

My dilemma is do I join SNIPEF even though I'm not an employer ? or do I join CIPHE even though its not really recognised up here ? and what are the costs for each ?
