Does any one know a section in a code or a standard that indicates that it is acceptable to use roller supports for steam piping? Thanks in advance

what size pipe are we talking about, and length of run?

Ever heard of expansion and contraction?

All the steam pipe we fit is on rollers.

normally anything over 2" on rollers

Thank u all for your comments, I am aware that roller supports are used to allow for the frequent expansion and contraction of Steam pipes, the thing is that I am currently working on shop drawing for a Steam boiler for a food services factory and the consultant that is responsible for approving the Shop drawing insets that roller supports should not be used and guided welded supports should be used instead, so I was wondering if any one know an article or a clause in any code or a standard that clearly indicates that roller supports are allowed to be used for steam piping.

And the consultant is not giving any explanation really, I am not working with him directly he is in another country, I only communicate with him through the contractor and they are not getting along well.

The sizes we are taking about are in the range of 100mm Nom. Dia. to 200mm. Nom. Dia. an the lengths are in the range of 30m-60m and the pressure is 10 bar

I know no one really does. But technically why should we use bonding clamps when we cut a section of gas or water pipes out? Thanks.
