Waterwaster

Hi all.

So I have an OSO Super SXD 180 immersion heater and it is pouring a huge amount of water out of the cold water pressure relief valve regardless of whether the tank is heating or not. We're talking litres a minute currently. I have replaced the valve which changed nothing. I have repressurised the oem expansion vessels correctly which, as far as I can tell, made the problem worsen with water coming out at a faster rate. Any ideas as to what is going on? Could it be an internal issue?

Many thanks

What's the water pressure coming into the tank?

What's the valves rated pressure?

Most common problem is that water pressure into the tank is too high.

Manufacturers often request cold water relief valves on their cylinders - to protect their product.
Often rated to low - so water weeps constantly.

Many issues with this problem

I have a plumber coming tomorrow to change a cartridge on a badly dripping tap on my bathroom mixer unit. There is no separate isolating valve for this tap so I'll have to close the stopcock. I tried closing it today but it won't go absolutely 100% closed and there is still a very slight flow...
