Well that's something ive never seen before!
We at times install commercial kitchens I've no doubt if you sink is decent quality stainless it could be tig welded then polished
However probably not cost effective by time you have taken sink out to get it sorted better to fit new sink.

Looks like an Ice pick has slipped off the drainer and pierced a hole, could ask a mobile welder to attend or could do a bodge repair with a two pack epoxy I guess.

Claim on your home insurance after all it why we have it ? any repair with be visible and ugly . Kop

I was going to do this, I have accidental insurance, but ive made already 2 claims already and ive only had the the policy for 3 months.
I'm not having much luck lol.

Filled up sink with warm water for 10 mins with no leak so it'll do for the moment lol

That'll be a heavy, quite shark Chefs type knife dropped from not too far up.
The culprit knife shouldn't be too far away and neither should the culprit, who probably unknowingly, did it.

Not worth repairing, it could be hammered flat for the time being to close it up to reduce the leak.

Quite common in commercial sinks

normally just do a Dome headed bold and put a rubber washer on the underside with a metal washer and a nyloc
