Hi all, all new to this breakdown life, currently waiting on getting on a training course, so just been relying on technical and instructions since I passed my oftec.

The current boiler is a two pipe line off a tiger loop.

I went to a Grant vortex boiler last week where the boiler went into lockout after its purge, the pump was only showing 2bar on the gauge, the solenoid was showing in between the allowances. The photocell was fine, it’s recently had a new nozzle which looked clean. So I opted in for a new pump and rang grant technical and Riello technical to confirm. Which they did.

A couple days later , return to fit the new pump, the pump fired up the boiler for around 10 minutes , after 10 minutes of walking round the house making sure everything’s warm and returning to the boiler, the boiler eventually went back into lockout and won’t fire up again, lockout every time after it’s purge.
Put my gauge on the pump and the pump wasn’t reading anything on the gauge.

Spoke to technical and they said it must be a faulty pump, which is fair enough but I want to know if there is anything else I can check so I can eliminate other components so I don’t fit a new pump and have the same outcome.

Any help would be appreciated! Thankyou

Ideal Logic 24, Previous problem was that the hot water was only cold or barely warm if the heating was in use. If heating was off and boiler cold then would get hot water most of the time. Changing the flow cartridge about 2 years ago (when I moved in) solved this problem enough to suffer it as...

We run a community village hall and have a large kitchen provided for the use of hirers. This includes a Lincat SLR9 gas cooker which I believe is a 23.8Kw appliance with all six burners and oven on max. This was installed some 10 years ago and has passed all subsequent Gas Safety inspections as...

Hi all, I'm installing a concrete patio out back. By the wall under the kitchen sink I have an existing P-Trap gully for the grey water from the sink, dishwasher, washing machine etc. When I pour the concrete there won't be any chance to dig it up anymore. From my own research I get the...
