A friends parents have just text me saying they have had a quote to replace a pump and a quote for a power flush, now I can do the pump cheaper but I do not have the equipment to do a power flush and have never done one. I was just wondering if they want me to install the pump would it be better to install before the power flush or after, or does it not matter?

Thanks for for you comments
:)

Hire powerflusher for £40 remove pump and connect to pipes directly. Fit a mag also.

Yeah that's what I thought but didn't know if you replaced it before, if it would help with power flush being more effective. Obviously if they connect the flushing machine via pump valves it would not matter about the pump.
Thanks for the replies

Not applicable here but I connect the old pump when off to the drain on the machine for a bit. If refitting at least it is clean. Most systems that need a flush usually have a pretty schlerotic pump so usually we fit a new along with new pump valves.

Graham's the merchant near me hires out a kamico for £35 a shift plus vat. Probably get one from local hire shop? Would be quite a good little earner.

Hire out a 28 / 35mm bender per week
Hire out a powerflush and magnaclense
Per day?

Got the Kamco full set up etc etc not cheap but made it's money time after time and associated additional work. Without ALL of the equipment it can APPEAR that the flush is satisfactory to the eye when it really isn't to industry standard.

I know of people who have hired powerflushers and then the machine/equipment is s**t and have a leak/damage on their hands. I have a large bunded container I sit my pump in and do the work with another plumber.....the only way to get effective results.
