N power purge and relight

Had a call off n power,asking if i would do a purge and relight on a property near me.I couldnt go.Just wondered as anyone else done these before for them.

purge and relight on domestic? very straight forward isnt it? how much did they offer you

seems strange that they did not have there own engineer to do this, unless the work was unplanned. Most energy companies have there own engineers, but they are all making cut backs in staff to save money.

could have been a flagged address where they will not let there engineers work?

I couldnt go so didnt ask about money,the bloke said on the phone that n power coudent get there until monday as they dont work weekend.

Never heard of companies doing this - I though all big firms had people working weekends.

They can bring some of it my way if they like, nothing like a nice easy job and a few extra quid.

Atleast they have your number now - they could phone you in the future with more jobs

wonder if they actually wanted you to work out the repurge volume lol, straight forward for someone whos just been to college not so for someone who has not done it for nearly 5 years

seems abit silly to do work on a mains supply with no arranged labour for this. Dont sound very organised to me!

Dont think it was a wind up the addres he gave me was round the corner so must of looked up on gas safe and i was nearest,What was weird thou he said pre pay meter had been capped and needed removing and purged and relight and a gas safety report isuing.Said it was urgent has customer had no gas,

It would have been a debt swap on an outside box. They would have had a no access today on a credit to pp exchange but swapped it anyway and capped it. The customer arrives back in and kick up fk as they have no gas so they picked someone local. Simple test and purge job. They would have paid you your rate. NG will probably pick it up if they can't get anyone and bill them more.
