Hi,
Could you please help me locate the best place where I can fit Magnetic filter into my heating system?
I have vented system with tanks on loft.

Can I install this Filter on pipe with arrow?

Cheers,
Peter

Welcome Peter. Ideally you want to protect the boiler from getting magnetite etc inside its waterways, so filter is best on the last return pipe as it heads to boiler. Normally close to the boiler then.
On the flow pipe is better than nothing and the pipe in your photo, at rear of airing cupboard will be an easy point to connect to, but not brilliant to work at later and also it will not be before the pump and m.v. and any dirt from boiler side will not be immediately filtered.
Can it not simply be fitted at return at boiler? You are better getting a heating engineer to look at it and I think in the photo there might be a permanent bypass link pipe, which is wrong.

I'd say as close to the boiler as possible. Will eliminate any pipework cock ups and ensure that all CH water passes through the filter prior to the boiler

Hi there,,,, best to install the filter anywhere between the last/first ( usually the same lol) radiator and the boiler ,, and must be on the return pipework, make sure you have enough space for maintanance and removal of the filter ,

As others have said as close to the boiler on the return as possible although anywhere on the system will help somewhat if limited to space available

Generally as most have said. On return as close to boiler as you can. If not possible just make sure it's after the feed and vent from your head tank but before mid position valve.

We run a community village hall and have a large kitchen provided for the use of hirers. This includes a Lincat SLR9 gas cooker which I believe is a 23.8Kw appliance with all six burners and oven on max. This was installed some 10 years ago and has passed all subsequent Gas Safety inspections as...

I was stupid enough not to check the position of the pipes under the tiles when installing a toilet and drilled right through the center of a 16 mm copper water pipe. I exposed the pipe by removing a ~30cm section of the plastic sleeve and a ~10 cm section of the pipe around the hole. Several...
