Hi Everyone,

I am looking to book onto a course to gain a GAS SAFE ticket.

I have no experience so will be looking at one of the longer length courses (bit of plumbing, electrics, and gas) so I can get some training in the skills required to start into the industry. I am a mature 43yr old who is looking for a new career, am quite handy with a bit of mechanics on vehicles, so not afraid to learn new skills.

I am looking for a course that offers a "placement" to complete the portfolio, and not too bothered about the price as long as the training is top quality.

Ideally I would like to do the course around South Wales - which would save some costs, but would rather spend a bit more in the areas of accommodation etc to get the right course.

So the question is-

Can anyone recommend a suitable course for me round South Wales - or do I need to travel a bit further afield?

I am currently looking at Brookhouse Training in Yorkshire and the Access Training in Cardiff

Any thought welcomed

Cheers

I don't want to offend you or come across badly but It takes apprentices 3 years working 4/5 days a week plus a day at collage to become plumbers/ gasfitters fat track courses are a joke! if you seriously want to become a plumber find a plumber and work with him for a couple of years very few fasttrack plumbers make it, I personally know one who has made it and at least 6 that haven't a lot of it is who you have around you I have 3/4 other plumbers I can call on if I come across a problem an they also ring me too sometimes its just a fresh head that clears things up as far as the training providers go the only one I have used is able skills for additional gas appliances an they were superb for me

Hello, I am seeking some advice, I have a POTTERTON PROMAX 28 COMBI Boiler and I noticed yesterday that the water around the house is no longer warming up. The heat exchanger has been changed 6 months ago, so I do not believe it is that. Does anyone have any ideas on what it could be? Thanks

We are from Alberta, and I own an electrical company. I have been asked by a BC Mechanical P. Eng. to install an emergency STOP button at the man-door to the boiler room. It's intent is to 'halt' the operation of the boilers in the room should there be an emergency. He is demanding that I do...

We run a community village hall and have a large kitchen provided for the use of hirers. This includes a Lincat SLR9 gas cooker which I believe is a 23.8Kw appliance with all six burners and oven on max. This was installed some 10 years ago and has passed all subsequent Gas Safety inspections as...

Hi bit of a weird issue, I installed a grohe bathroom tap successfully 2 months ago bought from screwfix. Last week the right hand hot tap makes a squeak noise as I turn it on or off, left tap is 100% perfect and noiseless. This grohe tap is like one unit, so no screw notch or way I can remove...
