hi guys and gals, bit of a weird one this so hoping someone will know whats wrong

we have a logic heat 15 condensing boiler fitted with a danfoss RET B-RF wireless thermostat and REX timer, the systems been in just short of 3 years and is out of warranty by just under 12 months, just after the last inspection last year the boiler decided to play funny beggars, we would only get heating if the hot water was on at the same time on the timer and the thermostat on the immersion was turned up full, this was NOT the case for the first 2 years so it seemed a bit strange but the company that fitted it said it wasn't a major issue as it would stay hotter longer so wouldn't use anymore gas to heat it up later on, then the last few days no matter what we do the heating just will not come on, the thermostat calls for it and the timer is turned to on all day yet the boiler won't fire for the rads, if the water is calle to be heated it will fire the boiler for that no problem, the really strange thing is the main bedroom radiator is quite warm, not as hot as it should be on full but warm enough to keep the room ok, the bathroom rad is also lightly warm at the bottom no other rad in the house has any heat at all, the boiler is in the kitchen at the back of the house and the bathroom is directly above it, the main bedroom is at the front of the house with another small bedroom and a large bedroom to the rear next to the bathroom, there are also 4 rads downstairs that get nothing at all, am i best calling a boiler engineer, getting a new boiler or is it something i can do to sort it

any help would be very gratefully appreciated

Miggs

Hi miggs ... Sounds like a fault with a zone/diverter valve not the boiler, first thoughts! Do you have a clue what I'm talking about though?

Another vote for the diverter valve. You should get a good heating engineer in to fix it.

you mean the 3 way valve? that's new with the boiler and timer/thermo install, it's got a single button on it that when pressed you can hear the water firing up the pipes as it turns

instructions say theres a battery symbol pops up when in need of new batteries and theres not been but i replaced them anyway when the problem started, i have also been through the 8 different modes on the 3 way valve leaving each one a couple of hours to see if that helps, i have reset the boiler left the boiler off for a couple of hours and also re paired the stat and the timer just in case that was the problem, as a last resort today i have blown out the inside of the boiler unit with my compressor in case some dust was blocking something, i noticed when the front was off that there is a little pot of water on the bottom right of the boiler with a screw cap on the underside, this pot was full of dirty water so i have drained it out

And on that note I'm out of here!!!!

My advice is get someone in who know's what they're doing before you harm yourself or someone else ~~~~~~~~~
