Hi all
I have been using a step ladder when climbing in & out of lofts but after suffering a back problem don't think this is the best idea Just wondered what you guys do to get up & in
Thanks

Combination ladders for me, but then I'm a stumpy wee bugger and need it for painting skirting boards too!

I use telescopic ladder, but you must take care of these and ALWAYS check that each rung you extend has been engaged.

i use a combi ladder i got for around £25 many years ago, tall enough to get to soil stacks and most short work. easily fits into small vans and cars.
the customer dosn't look at me gone out like they would if i got my 4.5meter double out of the van to go up the hatch.lol.

I use whatever the customer has (and if they haven't got one then I fetch mine for the next visit).

I also look around the loft before I zoom up into it as there are plenty of mini-beasts around. Told a friend of mine about this practice and he gave me a polite but sideways look. Around half a day later he was done by a wasp as he hadn't checked the space out ...
