I've a porcelain bathroom sink in my house, think it's a B&Q one, anyway on the right hand side on the bottom lip there's a hole. This hole is leaking water when ever I empty the basin. The main drain itself is all fine and watertight, I'm not sure if there should of been a bung in this extra hole or how the water even gets into there to drip out. I'd appreciate any help

Has or does the basin get filled up to , or past overflow level ?

Basin overflow empties via slot in basin waste. If the overflow has leakage path to hole this is your problem as slot allows water to travel both ways. Check by blocking hole to eliminate possibility that leakage is where waste exits basin and is travelling to lowest point of basin.

It shouldn't happen, as above, there is a breach somewhere internally between the overflow passage and the inner skin of the basin
Get on to B & Q for them to change it at their expense
